We are pleased to announce that HABL, our social media platform, has become the first blockchain dApp to pass and obtain the preliminary certification for the Information Security Management System (ISMS-P), which was implemented in July 2022.
Our certification for the operation of “Blockchain-based Social Media, HABL,” allows us to expand our business in various forms in the future, leveraging the information protection system that we have already established.
Despite of our wish to update the community with the utmost details possible, we may not be able to provide definite response at times, due to the potential variables involved in the certification progress. The ISMS-P is a newly established certification system by the Ministry of Science and ICT in South Korea as per September of last year for entities that fall under the Virtual Asset Service Provider category. It certifies whether the virtual asset service provider qualifies in term of security policies, manpower, equipment, facilities, and many others.
New virtual asset service providers are required to meet reporting requirements, including obtaining ISMS certification, establishing an anti-money laundering (AML) system, and registering with the Korean Financial Intelligence Unit (KoFIU), in accordance with the revised Special Act. The ISMS-P certification sets a high standard, covering 102 areas of information security and personal information protection, including aspects such as customer information protection, information protection policies, organizational operations, asset and security system management, and protection of information subject rights. Certification is granted only after a very rigorous screening. As the first blockchain dApp to obtain this certification, HABL recognize our responsibility to set a positive example.
